Used in religious statuary and by prosperous families of Renaissance Spain, the material is richly veined and pleasantly porous. Due to the amount of light it lets through, it was often used for windows. We took note. In our Skylar family, we mount a slab of Spanish alabaster with thin metal clasps over an LED lamp.
